There's much to consider in trying to change state law.  The wrong approach could prove costly and ineffective, and have unforeseen consequences.  I have nearly three decades of experience working with legislative members, staff, and state agencies.  Let me talk you through the various approaches to solve your issue.

During the last regular legislative session, there were over 7,000 individual bills and resolutions filed.  Some were innocuous, some far-fetched, and some had very serious policy implications that could have significantly changed the way your company does its business.   Knowing how to filter, track, read, and evaluate the bills has characteristics of skill and art.        

Having worked as a legislative committee director, agency liaison, senior leadership staff to the Speaker of the House, and government relations specialist, I've seen a lot of legislative issues, budget scenarios, and even some shenanigans.  Over time, I've seen the political pendulum swing back and forth on certain issues.  I can advise your company on the best course of action in a particular situation.  

I'm Chas Semple.  I grew up in Midland, TX, and have lived my whole life in Texas.  I attended Texas A&M and Midland College before finishing my degree at TCU in Finance with a Real Estate concentration.  I made my way to Austin, and sold real estate for a couple years before my career began in the capitol.  I've worked several different capacities in state government for 27 years, and I'm available to use that knowledge to help your company navigate the legislative process.
